1. Set your SEO goals
Firstly you'll need to align your business goals with your SEO goals. These should support your business objectives, such as increasing sales, getting new leads, brand awareness or driving more website traffic. It is important to remember that SEO is an ongoing long term strategy and that it takes time for results to show. The more competitive the keywords you are using, the longer it will take for their results to rise.
2. Conduct an SEO audit
An SEO audit will provide you with information about your website's current information and this makes a good base on which to refer progress to. A website content audit is different from an SEO audit as it also looks at aspects including keywords, meta tags, headings, links, filenames and page search engine rankings. There are online tools that offer this service for free, such as Ahref's SEO audit tool، و Semrush's site audit tool, both of which do require you to create an account with them. You then use the audit report to make the recommended changes to your website. As well as checking your website, you can also check those of your competitors to see if you can identify areas they are lacking in that you can take advantage of.
3. Research for keywords
Keywords are one of the key aspects a search engine uses when deciding which pages to display to search engine users. Start off with brainstorming the words and phrases you think customers would use to find your products. Then use a keyword research tool such as اقتراح أوبر, أداة الكلمات المفتاحية, Google Ads or Ahrefs. Ideally you are looking for keywords that have a high search volume and low competition. If you are starting out, using long-tail keywords with less search volume but less competition too would be better than using short-tail keywords with high volume and competition.
4. Check for search intent
Along with your keyword research, it is important to take note of the search intent for each keyword. For instance, a keyword can have a high number of searches who enter that phrase but want something different than what you are providing for it. One way to check user intent is to enter the keyword phrase into a Google search and check the top 10-20 results to see what content they are displaying on their found pages. For example, if the results show how to articles, then you using a case study for that keyword phrase wouldn't be appropriate.
5. Content SEO strategy
Developing a content SEO strategy is important because it will help you to present Google with the right relevant information so it can display the answers visitors are seeking to their search. It's all about creating high quality content which has the potential to meet your business goals, search traffic goals and ranking potential. This could be done through a making a list of the keyword phrases you want to rank for and matching them up with new or existing pages (to rewrite) or articles to write throughout the year.
6. On page SEO
On page SEO refers to the optimisation of content visible on your website pages, headings, file names, meta descriptions, meta titles and links within your website. It involves making sure each page has its own focus keyword phrase, using meta tags, internal linking, images with optimised filenames and page headings. It is worth reading our article on writing SEO content as it describes each of these features individually.
7. Link building strategy
There are three types of links; those that link from one page to another in your website, those that link to outside websites and links from outside websites to your website. Links within your website help Google bots to find and index content better, links to other websites show Google bots that you feel there is relevant and high quality content on the page you are linking to, and links from other sites (called backlinks) to a page on your site tells Google that web master thinks the content on the linked to page is high quality and worth search with their followers. It is important to have backlinks from reputable and high quality websites
8. Local SEO strategy
Local SEO is important because it helps your website show up in Google search results in which a user find a business or products like yours in their local area. Things you can do to boost your local SEO include asking customers for online reviews, creating a Google Business profile, use local placenames within your website and have an updated contact page which lists your full address. 9. Optimise for user experience
User experience or UX refers to the experience someone has when visiting your website. UX can affect customer satisfaction levels, interaction with your website and sales, so it is important that your website follows good UX principles. These include keeping content focused on the customer, viewable on a range of devices, easy to navigate, consistent page layout, and displaying credible and valuable information.
